My name is Alex Kliuchko. I am from Belarus and I care about its future. I study Fashion and Design at the OsloMet - Oslo Metropolitan University.
Generation “Ў” is my graduation collection dedicated to the struggle of #belaruswomen for freedom and to their role in the protest movement in Belarus.
When I learned about the #Fashionforfreedom project I knew I had to take part and support Belarusian women. These women, who have been fighting for freedom for over a year despite the repressions and the threat to life. At the heart of my collection are traditional national colors, symbols, and the language of Belarus. They stand for the freedom of choice, the right to be yourself, and the ability to speak up. This is my protest!
You could ask “What do fashion and protest have in common?” It is their aim. Both fashion and protest have the aim to be seen and to be heard.
Through my collection Generation “Ў” I express my gratitude to all who keep on fighting and I call on my colleagues to join the Fashion for Freedom project.
