The Belarusian artists Ihar Rymasheuski and Liudmila Shchamialiova were detained on 05.10.24 e.


Liudmila Shchamialiova, the daughter of People's Artist of Belarus Leonid Shchamialiou, was arrested alongside her husband, Ihar Rymasheuski.


The couple are celebrated Belarusian artists. Their works have graced leading Belarusian galleries and even public transportation. They created memorable images of "Eternal Minsk" and portrayed Belarusians as naive, sincere, yet warm-hearted.


The charges against these artists are currently unknown.


Charges indicted:

Art. 342 of the Criminal Code — Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them

Беларуских художников Игоря Римашевского и Людмилу Щемелеву задержали 05.10.24.


Людмила Щемелева — дочь народного художника Беларуси Леонида Щемелева была арестована вместе с мужем Игорем Римашевским.


Супруги - знаменитые беларуские художники. Их работы украшали лучшие белорусские галереи и даже общественный транспорт. Они создали запоминающийся образ «вечного Минска» и наивных, простодушных, но сердечных беларусов.


В чем обвиняют этих художников, пока неизвестно.


Предъявлены обвинения:

ст. 342 Уголовного кодекса — Организация и подготовка действий, грубо нарушающих общественный порядок, либо активное участие в них
