For six months, the Belarus Women's Foundation has been collecting and documenting the stories of women who have suffered under the regime—women who have been subjected to repression in Belarus, including torture, beatings, and humiliation.
This week, we submitted a request to the International Criminal Court in The Hague to open a criminal case against Lukashenko for "Crimes Against Humanity."
We have also sent letters to the leaders of the United Kingdom and Germany, asking them to support our appeal.
Next week, we plan to send letters to the leaders of 120 countries that have signed the Rome Statute, which established the International Criminal Court.
Our goal is to make Lukashenko not only a pariah in the eyes of the international community but also to hold him accountable for the numerous crimes he has committed against the Belarusian people!
