On November 20, 1954, the United Nations General Assembly established World Children's Day.
World Children's Day provides us the opportunity to reflect on children's rights, to promote the importance of protecting minors, and do everything possible to ensure that all children grow up in a happy, healthy and safe environment.
Unfortunately, children's rights are grossly violated in many countries around the world. Belarus is no exception.
Here is a brief overview of statistics from Belarus:
- 7 children are political prisoners in Belarus !!! (6 children in an penal colony + 1 child in an juvenile penal colony) & 3 children are under partial house arrest
- More than 1,200 teenagers took part in peaceful protests which began in 2020 and faced repressions, including threats to be removed from their families.
- During the first three months of the protests, more than 400 families were subjected to administrative commissions, where so-called "preventive conversations" were held due to children's participation in protests.
- One teenager committed suicide, unable to withstand the pressure of the security forces.
- One child suffering from epilepsy faced prosecution and to this day remains in state custody, despite his medical condition. His father has now been detained as well.
When dealing with minors, the law enforcement agencies in Belarus commonly use torture, cruel treatment, and deny medical assistance - even in critical situations.
The Belarus Women's Foundation calls on the international community to focus on cases of gross violations of children's rights in Belarus.
We call for pressure to be exerted on the inhumane Lukashenko regime and demand the release of all children from Belarusian prisons!
A country that denies children of their future cannot have a future!

20 ноября 1954 года Генеральная Ассамблея ООН провозгласила - Всемирным Днем Детей.
Всемирный День Детей является хорошей возможностью вспомнить про права детей в разных странах, поднять вопрос защиты несовершеннолетних и сделать все возможное, чтобы наши дети росли счатливыми и здоровыми в безопасной стране.
Во многих странах мира, права детей грубо нарушаются и Беларусь, к сожалению, не исключение.
Давайте вместе посмотрим на статистику по беларуским детям:
- 7 детей - политзаключенные !!! (6 детей в в колонии общего режима + 1 ребенок в колонии для несовершеннолетних) & 3 детей на "дом. химии"
- начиная с 2020 года, более 1200 подростков участвовали в мирных протестах, все они попали под репрессии, в частности угрозы изъятия из семьи.
- за первые три месяца протестов, более 400 семей прошли через административные комиссии, где с ними проводились так называемые «профилактические беседы» из-за участия детей в акциях протеста.
- один беларуский подросток покончил жизнь самоубийством, не выдержав давления силовиков.
- 1 ребенок, страдающий эпилепсией, был привлечен к уголовной ответственности и находится под стражей, несмотря на свой медицинский диагноз. Сейчас задержан и его отец.
В отношении несовершеннолетних правоохранительные органы Беларуси активно применяют пытки, жестокое обращение, отказывают несовершеннолетним в медицинской помощи, даже в ситуациях крайней необходимости.
Беларуский Женский Фонд призывает международное сообщество обратить внимание на случаи грубого нарушения прав детей в Беларуси.
Мы призываем оказывать давление на бесчеловечный режим Лукашенко и требуем выпустить всех детей из беларуских тюрем!
В стране, где нет будущего у детей, нет будущего и у самой страны!
