"I’m out for a walk!" - since August 2020, these simple words have acquired a new meaning for many Belarusians and have become the slogan of the struggle for freedom and change. All thanks to a tiny, but brave woman, Nina Baginskaya, who said this in response to an OMON officer who would not let her pass.
Despite the fact that Nina has been a fairly well-known activist since the late 1980s, it was this video that made the 73-year-old pensioner famous not only in Belarus, but also abroad. This brave woman has been an inspiration to those who take part in street protests and also artists, she is often featured in foreign media, and passers-by ask to be photographed with her.
