Non-formal education for Belarus female students

In the modern world, women are taking on more responsibility and leadership roles. Thanks to the initiative of activists from the Belarus Women's Foundation, for six months Belarusian students had a unique opportunity to reveal their potential and develop leadership qualities.

During this period, in a series of online sessions, participants underwent training on the concept of human rights, civic activism, non-violent communication, as well as practiced an ability to build their teams and implemented their own projects.

Exploring the concept of human rights

To begin with, the students started learning the concept of human rights. This part of the program allowed them to deepen their understanding of the basic principles and values related to human rights.

The participants studied historical examples of the struggle for human rights, as well as current challanges in this area. This knowledge was not only informative, but also inspiring for the students, motivating them to stand up for their rights and freedoms.

Civic activism: The power of action

After mastering the concept of human rights, the students moved on to studying civic activism. This module of the program helped them understand how they can actively influence society and contribute to change. Participation in civic initiatives, organization of actions and events, as well as work with public organizations - all this became part of the training.

The students learned how to appeal to the authorities and achieve changes in the interests of society.

Non-violent communication: The art of dialogue

An important skill that the students acquired was non-violent communication. This is the art of dialogue and the ability to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence. These skills are not only important in everyday life, but also when working in a leadership role. The students learned how to effectively express their ideas and conduct a dialogue with different groups of society.

Initially, about 60 students took part in the project. Throughout the training, their knowledge grew, resulting in project proposals, which the participants worked on throughout the course.

The participants who developed the best and promising projects took part in a two-days in-person session, where they were able to improve their projects under the guidance of experienced trainers.

Building teams and projects

One of the key elements of the training program was the formation of teams and the development of projects. The students learned how to assemble and motivate groups of people, work in a team and implement their ideas.

They developed their own social projects that can potentially benefit society. At the end of the project, the participants received certificates confirming their new skills and abilities, and they also have the opportunity to continue to contact the activists of the BWF, who as mentors are ready to share their experience in order to bring the social projects started by the students during the training to a successful completion.

This unique opportunity to become leaders helped Belarusian students reveal their potential and contribute to social development. They have become not only more competent and confident, but also ready to act as leaders and activists. This experience is not only important for them, but also for the whole society, which can expect positive changes, thanks to the actions and initiative of these talented young women.
