On December 10, Kyiv hosted a show of the #MEUS97 collection by Alla Martinovich, a participant of the Fashion For Freedom project. MEUS97 is the second collection that Alla created together with Belarusian women who were forced to flee to Ukraine - Ksenia, Zoya Grushina, and Nastya Zhurba.
We talked to the creators of the collection and the models about the collection, teamwork, future plans, and protest fashion. We also talked about the confinement conditions in the Brest detention center and women political prisoners.
Details are in the video.
We apologize for the technical nuances of the video, during the interview electricity went off in Kseniya's house in Batumi where she lives now
About #MEWE97
The concept of the collection is quite simple, the style is sports chic, light free forms. This is literally what we were wearing when we went to the protests so that it would be easy for us to escape in case of danger.
The main goal of the collection and the project is to keep Belarus on the agenda, to show that we are still fighting for freedom and are not going to give up.
Remember that everything starts with our tacit consent, and changes will come at the moment when all our voices will be heard. We urge you not to be afraid and join our team!
