#30 Ekaterina Sh.

Ekaterina Sh. was arrested in Minsk, Belarus, on January 23, 2021 and received 25 days of arrest for participating in the "chain of solidarity".

Ekaterina's interview is a story about tortures, that women political prisoners face every day.

Arrested women don't have any access to normal food, water and hygiene items. Moreover, at subzero temperatures, prisoners suffer from cold in the cells. The police officers pour water with chlorine onto the floor in the cell and make women wash it. A lot of women suffer from allergic reactions and hypothermia, have coronavirus and don't receive any medical care. Being behind bars, Ekaterina often thought about suicide...

This horror has become a reality for thousands of Belarusian women over the past year!

And we must help them!
