Each year on June 20 we celebrate the courage and strength of people who have been forced to flee their home countries to escape wars, military conflicts, natural disasters, political or religious persecution. According to the UN Refugee Agency, at the end of 2022, there were 108.4 million of refugees in the world, of whom 43.3 million were children.
Before 2020, when we heard about people seeking protection and fleeing their homes, we would generally picture someone from the poorest, conflict-torn African countries, such as Eritrea, Central African Republic, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo or South Sudan.
Since last year around 8.3 million people have been forced to flee Ukraine. Even though there are no official statistics, it is estimated that between 300 000 to a 1 000 000 people have had to flee Belarus in the last few years.
Rebuilding one’s life from scratch in a new country, away from home, friends, and family and without a job, documents, any assistance or a roof over your head is incredibly hard. It is only hope and the dream that one day it will be safe for them to return home that keeps refugees going in places where they have found shelter, but which could never replace their home.
‼️ We urge the leaders of all countries welcoming refugees to show support by swiftly granting them legal status and to fight any potential discrimination and violation of their rights!
‼️ We ask the communities that accept refugees to quickly integrate them in your countries and do everything possible to make them feel welcome!

Каждый год 20 июня мир отдает дань уважения мужеству и силе людей, которые вынужденно покидают свои страны, спасаясь от войн или военных конфликтов, стихийных бедствий, преследований по политическим и религиозным мотивам. Согласно Агентству ООН по делам беженцев, на конец 2022 года в мире насчитывалось 108,4 миллионов беженцев, из них 43,3 миллиона детей.
До 2020 года каждый раз, когда мы слышали о беженцах, наше воображение в основном представляло беженцев из беднейших стран Африки, таких как Эритрея, Центральная Африканская Республика, Сомали, Судан, Демократическая Республика Конго, Южный Судан и другие.
К этому списку теперь присоединились Украина – 8,3 миллионов беженцев, а также Беларусь, точных данных по количеству беженцев из которой нет, но по некоторой информации от 300 тысяч до миллиона человек.
Начинать жизнь с нуля в чужой стране вдали от родины, друзей, родственников, без работы, документов, денег, помощи и жилья крайне сложно. И только мечта и вера, что однажды можно будет безопасно вернуться домой, дают силы продолжать жизнь в странах, которые никогда не смогут заменить родной дом!
‼️ Мы призываем руководства стран, принимающих беженцев, оказывать всеобъемлющую помощь в вопросах легализации, пресекать любую дискриминацию и нарушение прав беженцев!
‼️ Мы призываем граждан принимающих стран: Cделайте все возможное, чтобы беженцы, вынужденно лишённые родины, смогли как можно быстрее адаптироваться в ваших странах и хотя бы немного почувствовать себя как дома!
