* “Belaruski Hajun” Case:
The submission bot of the Telegram channel “Belaruski Hajun,” which monitored military activity in Belarus, was hacked in early February 2025, putting at risk all individuals who had ever contacted the project.
On 5 February 2025, the project’s creator, blogger Anton Motolko, reported the breach and warned users of potential risks. On 7 February 2025, the first detentions became known. Shortly thereafter, the project ceased operations, and Motolko withdrew from public activity. The initiative had previously been publicly supported by the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
As a result of the breach, well over 100 individuals who had interacted with the project’s chatbot were detained, many of whom were subsequently prosecuted and sentenced to lengthy prison terms. Detentions and trials continue on a weekly basis.
