Mattea Meyer (member of the Swiss National Council and co-chair of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland) for Anastasiya Mirontsava: “For months, Anastasiya Mirontsava, who is only 24 years old, has been in pre-trial detention. Her “crime”? She took part in peaceful demonstrations against the Lukashenka regime and stood up for democracy and the rule of law. To raise awareness of these unacceptable human rights violations, I am taking over the godparenthood for Anastasiya as co-chair of the Swiss Social Democratic Party. Together with Libereco’s solidarity campaign #WeStandBYyou, we demand her immediate release as well as those of all political prisoners in Belarus!”

Before her arrest, Anastasiya Mirontsava was one of the top students in her final year at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. However, she was unable to take her state exams because she was behind bars. Since the academy never received an official letter from the authorities, she was expelled.
She was detained on October 15, 2020, in a criminal case under Article 342 Part 1 of the Criminal Code (active participation in group actions grossly violating public order). The reason for the arrest of Viktoryia and her sister was a protest video from August 10, 2020, in which they appeared.
Her sister, Viktoryia, was also detained under the same case.
After being charged, Anastasiya was placed in Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1 in Minsk.
During the trial, which began in March 2021, it was revealed that the sisters were also charged under Article 364 (violence or threat of violence against a police officer), and Viktoryia additionally under Article 363 (resisting a police officer).
Charges indicted:
Art. 342 of the Criminal Code — Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them
Art. 364 of the Criminal Code — Violence or threat of violence against an employee of the internal affairs bodies

Court ruling on 01.04.21: 2 years in a penal colony
Her sister, Viktoryia, received 2,5 years in a penal colony.
Anastasiya fully served her sentence and was released on June 16, 2022, from Penal Colony No. 4 in Homiel.
Анастасия Миронцева до задержания была одной из лучших студенток последнего курса БГАИ. Но она не смогла попасть на госэкзамены, так как была за решеткой, официального письма от органов в академию не пришло, и девушку отчислили.
Она была задержана 15.10.20 в рамках уголовного дела по ч. 1 ст. 342 Уголовного кодекса (Активное участие в групповых действиях, грубо нарушающих общественный порядок). Поводом для задержания ее и сестры стало видео с протестов 10.08.20, куда попали девушки.
Также в рамках этого дела была задержана и ее сестра Виктория.
После предъявления обвинений девушку поместили в СИЗО-1 в Минске.
На суде, который начался в марте 2021 года, выяснилось, что девушкам также вменяют ст. 364 УК (Насилие в отношении сотрудника милиции), а Виктории еще и ст. 363 (Сопротивление сотруднику органов внутренних дел).
Предъявлены обвинения:
ст. 342 Уголовного кодекса — Организация и подготовка действий, грубо нарушающих общественный порядок, либо активное участие в них
ст. 364 Уголовного кодекса — Насилие либо угроза применения насилия в отношении сотрудника органов внутренних дел

Решение суда 01.04.21: 2 года колонии
Сестра Виктория получила 2,5 года лишения свободы.
Анастасия полностью отбыла срок и 16 июня 2022 г. вышла на свободу из исправительной колонии № 4 в Гомеле.
