I will now do my utmost to ensure that Yuliya Yurhilevich is released from unlawful detention.”

Yuliya Yurhilevich worked as a lawyer for nearly 18 years. She defended several political prisoners in court, including Ales Pushkin, Artsiom Bayarski, Ihar Bantsar, Andrei Ausieyevich, and Andrei Sakalouski.

On February 23, 2022, she was disbarred by the Hrodna Regional Bar Association for "systematic violations of the law."

Yuliya left Belarus, but returned at the end of August 2022, and was arrested on the same day as journalist Pavel Mazheika - both are being prosecuted in the same criminal case.

Charges indicted:

On July 10, 2023, the trial of political prisoners lawyer Yuliya Yurhilevich and journalist Pavel Mazheika began at the Hrodna Regional Court, presided over by “judge” M. Filatau.

Both Pavel and Yuliya pleaded not guilty. During the trial, Yuliya stated she was being held in "inhumane conditions" and had not been allowed to review her case materials.

Юлия Юргилевич паботала адвокатом почти 18 лет. Она защищала в суде политзаключенных Алеся Пушкина, Артема Боярского, Игоря Банцера, Андрея Авсиевича, Андрея Соколовского. 23.02.22 года ее исключили из состава Гродненской областной коллегии адвокатов за «систематические нарушения законодательства».

Юлия уехала из Беларуси, но в конце августа 2022 вернулась в страну. Была задержана в один день вместе с Павлом Можейко - они проходят по одному делу.

Предъявлены обвинения:

ст. 361-4 УК "Содействие экстремистской деятельности"

10.07.23 в Гродненском областном суде начался суд по делу политзаключённых адвокатки Юлии Юргилевич и журналиста Павла Можейко Дело рассматривал "судья" М. Филатов (Ганебны суддзя Філатаў М.: Дзялок карнай індустрыі Лукашенкі | Shame judge Filatau M.: Dealer of the Lukashenka's punitive industry).

Павел и Юлия не признали вину. Юлия Юргилевич заявляла на суде, что ее держат в "скотских условиях" и не дали ознакомиться с делом.

Решение суда 26.07.2023: 6 лет колонии
