Freedom Day (Belarusian: Дзень Волі) - March 25

Freedom Day (Belarusian: Дзень Волі) is an unofficial holiday in Belarus celebrated on 25 March to commemorate the declaration of independence by the Belarusian Democratic Republic by the Third Constituent Charter on that date in 1918.

The state symbols became the white-red-white flag and the coat of arms of Pagon, and the state and mandatory language was Belarusian (since April 12, 1918).

Freedom Day has been celebrated as the Independence Day of Belarus by the Belarusian independence movement since the early 1920s. It is widely celebrated by the Belarusian diaspora.

The Belarusian opposition to the dictatorial regime of Alexander Lukashenko celebrates Freedom Day annually. The protests in Belarus are regularly accompanied by mass detention and torture of the protesters. The government does not recognize Freedom Day.

Yet, the Belarusian opposition persists, embodying resilience in the face of adversity.

Let's stand together in support of their struggle for justice and human rights!
