Interview: Veronica Tsepkalo & Manizha Wafeq

Manizha Wafeq is an Afghan entrepreneur and campaigner for women's rights, Co-founder and President of Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since 2002, after graduating in Economics, she has been working with development projects for women's empowerment and gender equality.


For over 10 years, Manizha worked with the Program "Peace through Business”, training businesswomen from Kabul and other provinces. She has trained more than 500 government officials on  Gender Mainstreaming.


In 2012, together with her sister Sania, Manizha also established a clothing production company called "Wonderland Women".


In her interview, Manizha talks about the events taking place in Afghanistan, women's rights in the country, the progress of the past 20 years and the erosion of women's rights under the ruling of Taliban.


Despite everything, Manizha believes that women should not give up, and their strength, courage and resilience give her optimism and hope for a better future.
