People like lawyer Anastasiya Lazarenka: a courageous woman who was arrested on June 2, 2022, and sentenced to six years in prison. She is accused of organizing an “unauthorized mass event” while providing pro bono legal advice to relatives of detainees near a detention center in Minsk. With this partnership, I stand in solidarity with Anastasiya Lazarenka. Belarus must guarantee the release of this courageous woman and the many others who have been unjustly imprisoned! My thoughts are with Anastasiya Lazarenka, her son and relatives, and the many others who are suffering under the oppression of the Belarusian regime.”
Anastasiya Lazarenka is a lawyer who was detained on June 2, 2022, allegedly for leaking data to Telegram channels. Security forces arrived to detain her armed with automatic weapons and wearing body armor — they entered through the windows and broke down the door.
According to the investigation, she allegedly “organized an unauthorized mass event” when she provided legal consultations outside Okrestina detention center in August 2020.
Charges:
Art. 342 of the Criminal Code — Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them
Art. 130 of the Criminal Code — Incitement to hatred
Art. 203-1 of the Criminal Code — Illegal actions with respect to information about private life and personal data
The trial began on May 2, 2023, at the Minsk City Court. On May 11, 2023, “judge” S. Cherepanava sentenced the political prisoner and lawyer Anastasiya Lazarenka to 6 years in a penal colony. The prosecution was represented by prosecutor A. Ramanenka. Anastasiya did not admit guilt in court.

Anastasiya’s son, who suffers from Crohn’s disease, and her elderly father were left without her.
Анастасия Лазаренко — адвокатка, была задержана 02.06.22 за якобы слив данных телеграм-каналам. Силовики приехали задерживать женщину с автоматами и в бронежилетах — залезли в окна и выломали дверь.
По версии следствия, она якобы организовала "несанкционированное массовое мероприятие", когда проводила консультацию под Окрестина в августе 2020 года.
Предъявлены обвинения:
ст. 342 Уголовного кодекса — Организация и подготовка действий, грубо нарушающих общественный порядок, либо активное участие в них
ст. 130 Уголовного кодекса — Разжигание вражды или розни
ст. 203-1 Уголовного кодекса — Незаконные действия в отношении информации о частной жизни и персональных данных
Рассмотрение дела а началось 2 мая 2023 г. в Минском городском суде. 11 мая 2023 г. "судья" С. Черепанова осудила политзаключённую адвокатку Анастасию Лазаренко на 6 лет колонии. Гособвинение поддерживала прокурорка А. Романенко. Свою вину Анастасия Лазаренко на суде не признала.
Решение суда 11.05.2023: 6 лет колонии
У Анастасии на свободе остались сын, страдающий от болезни Крона, и пожилой отец.

The lawyer was accused of organising actions that seriously violated public order – for providing free legal aid to relatives of political prisoners.
